Seeing that Computex 2017 is fast approaching, many tech companies are revving up their products and getting themselves ready to show who is the greatest in their particular fields. Earlier this month, AMD revealed the Ryzen Mobile which is a new breed of CPUs that are designed for laptops. What better way to show this teaser on public than through their youtube channel at Asus Republic of Gamers. The very initial consumer Ryzen lappy is now going out in the market.
This short teaser video demonstrates the logo of Ryzen along with some ROG-brand laptop within the middle, with words written as “Something has awakened” that is flashing underneath. Under the vid, you can see the caption “Something BIG is coming your way! Can you guess what it is? #JointheRepublic #Computex 2017.” And the answer is, yes! It’s a bit obvious Asus.
It is expected that Ryzen Mobile will be composed of APU’s that will come along with AMD’s Zen proci architecture paired with Vega GPU architecture from AMD. Or perhaps Asus could go with a CPU-only version along with a more modest Vega GPU seeing that both of these products will be launched at Computex. With regard to the final specifications for these products they’re still unannounced along with its availability in the market other than the info that it can be launched this summer.
Seeing that the ROG Branded hardware from Asus mainly targets gamers, it is expected that the notebook will be packed with beefy specs. This will also be the very first time wherein AMD will be having their own competitive mobile GPU to match against Nvidia’s line of powerful mobile GPUs. With this in mind, a 100-125 W Vega card having a 45W Ryzen chip will definitely make up for a dynamic all-AMD set up.
The event Computex 2017 will happen in Taipei on May 30 to June 3 so till then, we’ll have to wait and see.
